SDI LaFarga LLC is a venture joining Steel Dynamics, Inc., based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and La Farga, based in Barcelona, Spain.
In 2011, Steel Dynamics, Inc. and La Farga entered in a joint venture to create SDI LaFarga. The two companies shared similar visions as being leaders in innovation in their respective fields and stewards of the environment in creating processes that use recycled metal to produce high quality finished goods. Added to these shared beliefs were SDI’s strong incentive-based culture and La Farga’s proprietary technical help and experience with transforming reclaimed copper into high quality rod. The relationship between the two still stands strong today as the venture continues to gain strength and momentum in the US copper rod and wire industry.
La Farga, through its subsidiaries, engages in the manufacture and marketing of various types of copper products internationally. La Farga’s roots go back more than 200 years to the time of the Napoleonic Wars. Steel Dynamics, in less than two decades, has become one of the largest and most diversified steel companies in America.
Although Steel Dynamics and La Farga have vastly different histories, they share the same goals: to provide the highest quality products and unparalleled customer service, while being good stewards of the environment.
